Some Committed Presenters
Some Topics or Themes We are Presenting
Access to data
This has always been discussed at GIS conferences and we are looking to help NBCGIS users to locate and utilize data from a variety of sources. Many of the presenters are very skilled at hunting down and making use of spatial information. Locating data from web sites, WMS sources and other methods will be discussed.
Low Budget GIS
This year we are seeing a drastic decrease in ability for many users to attend the conference. As budgets are tight, and although economically we may be on a slow upward curve, there is a desire by many of our attendees to find innovative solutions to being able to support GIS service for themselves of those they work with/for. This year we are gathering skilled people to show users some of the tricks, tips and software applications that can help meet budget and scheduling needs.
Putting it Together
By making use of the skills that many presentors and users have, we are intending to provide some data management frameworks that people can make use of in their struggle to keep up in working within spatial fields. We hope this conference will help attendees in; collecting GPS Imagery and vector data, through data manipulation to storing/managing and sharing information with others.
This years conference is very grass roots oriented, and we hope to support users of varying knowledge levels in seeing and using a mixture of software and practices. Whether you are just interested in Google Earth, or if you are needing to setup GIS services in your community - there is plenty to see and learn!
We have a mixture of workshops and presentations
